Efficient Integrated Transformer–Inductor With High PCB Utilization and Optimized Core

This article addresses the challenges associated with high winding and core loss in integrated transformer–inductor (ITL). To overcome these challenges, we propose an improved design of ITL by utilizing idle shielding layers for inductor integration within matrix transformer. method offers full printed circuit board utilization, where all are consumed as winding, significantly reducing ITL. Moreover, structure that better flux distribution leakage magnetic core. reduces more than 50% compared to conventional structure. We demonstrate effectiveness our proposed concepts presenting used a high-efficiency high-power-density 3-kW 400-V-to-48-V $LLC$ module. The converter achieves peak efficiency 98.7% power density 1500 W/in notation="LaTeX">$^{3}$ .
